  • Local photographer tries to preserve an Alaskan community.

    / Comments (0)

Local photographer, Terry Ratzlaff, has launched a Kickstarter campaign with the hopes of preserving an endangered community in Bristol Bay, Alaska by way of a photographic documentation.

The importance of this photography project is simple; to preserve a culture that has thrived in this region for thousands of years. A culture now threatened by the largest mine in North America, proposed to be built at the heart of the Bristol Bay Watershed. An open pit mine, that if built, stands to pollute the surrounding bay and it's inhabitants, thus destroying a thriving community.

If you're interested in sponsoring Terry's campaign you can do it here.

  • Mekanism and EVB have been busy.

Mekanism and EVB keep the creative rolling out the door - here are their two newest spots. The first, from EVB, is an interpretive dance for Silk Soy Milk. Yes, it sounds weird. And yes, it is weird. The second spot from Mekanism for Art.com is a super cool visual piece with great art direction and visual effects. All in all, a nice range of work.

Editor's Note: Apologies for originally identifying both spots as from Mekanism.

  • Venables Bell tells Audi it couldn't be done.

Venables Bell & Partners have just debuted five new spots for Audi. The flagship is a :60 second commercial entitled "It Couldn't Be Done," with four other :15 spots to follow.

They're supposed to bring to life Audi's tagline, "Truth in Engineering" - which to be honest, is the first time we've ever heard that line before.

Here's a really nice spot by Tempur-Pedic. Sure, you can see where it's going, but it's still a fun analogy, nicely art directed and well produced. We dig it.

    Via.

  • An auto commercial that left us speechless - and not in a good way.

We seriously thought this was a joke. The ridiculous copy. The over-dramatic music. The groan-inducing payoff. It had to be a spoof... yet it wasn't. Holy Hell, this is supposed to sell cars?
