I don't think Alex is done working in advertising, he's just done working for advertising agencies. I would guess that he's going to continue posting to his blog, filming episodes of Fear Less, and doing speaking engagements. He's going to continue the work he started as Chief Creative Insurgent of MDC, trying to influence corporations to do business in a more transparent, sustainable way, and he's going to continue to influence people in advertising to think bigger, push harder, and act out of love. And I can't wait to see what he does next.
Still doing business, but less advertising focus. More about advocating for consumer rights, and the new power that consumers have to buy from brands that are aligned with their values. Many companies from Walmart to Patagonia are heading in this direction.

He has appointed some amazing people to be his replacement quarterbacks, but I don't see the industry taking a downward spiral.
Yes, Alex Bogusky is awesome. But there are so many creative minds out there pulling off outstanding work that would even make Mr. Bogusky say "wow."
It will only go up.
We tend to agree. Advertising hates a vacuum. There's so much cool stuff going on these days, the spotlight will turn onto someone else.
That said, Alex was a magnetic personality. People like him don't come along every day.
