DraftFCB and Habitat for Humanity launch "Built by the Bay"

To raise awareness about the need to make affordable housing more sustainable for residents and the environment, three local Habitat for Humanity affiliates, in partnership with Pacific Gas and Electric Company and DraftFCB, recently launched the “Built By the Bay” campaign.

“Bay Area residents are largely unaware that Habitat for Humanity is in their own backyard,” said Janice Jensen, president and CEO of Habitat for Humanity East Bay. “If they do know about us, they don’t know that we help local potential homeowners renovate and build simple, energy-efficient homes. Hopefully, this campaign will not only introduce Habitat for Humanity to the public, but spark interest in potential volunteers and motivate them to seek out more information and get involved.”

And while the campaign shines a light on Habitat for Humanity, it’s ultimately the people featured in the work who help to show that we can all chip-in and volunteer.

"We're different in the Bay," said Chris Ford, chief creative officer at Draftfcb San Francisco. "We're a bunch of free-spirited do-gooders. So the idea was simple—celebrate the diverse, eclectic Bay Area volunteers who do this important work and build these much needed homes."
