Sköna and AC Transit try to "Rise Above It All"
Sköna Advertising kicked off an awareness campaign for AC Transit during a lunchtime event at the Transbay Temporary Terminal in downtown San Francisco. The campaign, “Rise Above it All,” showcases the "stress-free commute, beautiful Bay views, and comfortable, quiet ride available on AC Transit’s transbay trips."
We've been on AC Transit, and while nice, it's a tall order to get riders to believe that benefit statement. Sköna tried to reinforce the benefits with a large, branded hot-air balloon echoing the "Rise Above It All" theme - which came across as a bad (and confusing) visual pun.
Sorry Sköna. This one just didn't do it for us.

A balloon attached to a bus? THAT'S their idea? That's terrible. I haven't groaned this much since I was raped by a Kodiak bear. I think Skona might be eskimo for "Sucks."
As someone who has been trapped underground on BART, "Rise Above It All" makes perfect sense to me. Made sense to 1,000 other people, too. I'd say they did more than "try," but that's just one non-egotist's opinion.

And who gets trapped underground on BART? That hasn't happened in... forever. Muni - yes. BART? No. At least on BART I'm not stuck in bridge traffic moving 10 miles an hour.

I don't work for Skona. Heard the "1,000 locals" on one of the news stations (KPIX, I think). I always feel trapped underground on BART.
