The California Lottery confuses us.

If anyone gets this David & Goliath spot for the CA Lottery, please let us know. There's a gold panner who, for some reason, is finding crazy gold items in a stream. That's the spot. What that has to do with playing some scratcher game is beyond us.

What's not to get?

Why is this guy finding golden horse shoes (and other stuff) in a stream? It has no relation to what I could win.

The lottery ticket is 6 different games on one ticket. The gold miner isn't playing 6 different games. He's playing one game and winning 6 times.

The concept of finding ever-increasingly valuable items isn't even true.

"Going on a hot streak has never been easier"? That's the benefit you're selling? Are you guaranteeing I'm going to win a bunch? Because otherwise you're just selling me the name of the game and nothing else.

They don't even say "6 games. 1 ticket. 6 chances to win." At least that would include a benefit for the consumer.

This is horrible advertising.

>>> random okie harley pack lottery spot.

I don't think the people who are dumb enough to play the lottery are going to realize the difference. "If the old prospector is winning, so can I!"

I would have to agree. The commercial does not seem to make any sense because a scratch off ticket doesn't seem to along with gold panning unless they liken it to both having the same chances.

When we are using social media we don't really feel like we are panning for gold so this commercial may have the opposite effect on sales.
