Jaime Villalva

I was raised in the world's most dangerous city. In middle school I saw one of those silly "music is the devil" subliminal message videos; it wasn't only music but advertising as well, those sexy sexy ice cubes. Instead of getting terrified I became fascinated and skipped classes to go to the library and read books on subliminal ads but stumbled into a real advertising book and saw Bill Bernbach's Avis ad and was blown away. Although I sadly learned that subliminal advertising was a total crock, I knew what I wanted to be when I grew up. The final confirmation of my love of advertising was when I saw the movie crazy people with Dudley Moore. I was very quiet as a kid, my dad bought me robots and electronic toy guns so at least I would make noise, now i love to circuit-bend toys I buy from ebay and make even worse noise. I am a huge fan of Tibor Kalman and George Lois, and I love their punk attitude towards advertising and like them I love when my work gets a reaction.

Jess Andrews

Hello, I'm Jess Andrews. I'm a designer, illustrator, problem solver, problem maker, coffee drinker, and overall creative thinker (still welcoming other titles ending in 'er'). I am originally from Portland, OR and now living in San Francisco, CA.

Jessica Barr

I have completed my first two years of college and would like to spend my next six to eight months in an internship opportunity where I can gain experience in a vibrant artistic setting. I expect to transfer to a university in September 2011 to complete my degree in studio art and photography. When I finish my college degree I plan to begin my career in fashion photography art direction. For the past four years I have attended college filling my general education requirements with an emphasis in art. I have developed my skills in digital and film photography, life and form drawing, and studied art history extensively. Throughout, I have worked part- or full-time, becoming adept at balancing multiple priorities and time management. In my current role as sales associate for J. Crew and my previous roles as administrative assistant at a nonprofit and shift supervisor for Starbucks Coffee Co., I have demonstrated that I am an extremely fast and capable learner and a dedicated employee. These qualities are what I believe are the true necessity in any work environment along with drive and a love for what one does. Being able to gain experience relevant to my future goals would be invaluable. I have experience in office skills as well as experience managing and motivating myself in fast-paced work environments. I have experienced much success in each role I have undertaken, educationally and professionally—artistic, supervisory and administrative—and look forward to offering these skills to you in an internship setting. Thank you for your time and attention and I look forward to hearing from you. JESSICA M. BARR Phone 510-228-5379 email: jbgreeneyes2002@yahoo.com OBJECTIVE To contribute my skills in a challenging position as an intern in a well-run organization which offers opportunities to work with artistic professionals in a hands-on environment. EXPERIENCE 2009-Present: J. Crew Inc. (Part-time) Performed my duties as a sales associate which included meeting customers needs in a timely and friendly manner while operating the sales registers and imparting detailed information about J. Crew merchandise and quality. 2010: Society of St. Vincent de Paul (Part-time) Acted as volunteer one to two times a week, sorting clothes and merchandising storefront mannequins. 2007-2008: Girl Scouts of Northern California (Full-time) Answered phones and served over 15 employees with timeliness and organization in dealing with myriad administrative needs. Showed creativity in my creation and design of fliers and other digital and print media to advertise many events sponsored by the Girl Scouts. 2006-2007: Starbucks Coffee Co. (Full-time) Achieved shift supervisor promotion after six months of exemplary customer service. Acquired skills in cash handling and cheerfully meeting customer demands in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment with minimal error and maximum attention to detail. 2005: Bloom & Co., CPA (Part-time) Assembled tax returns, answered phones, prepared documents using MSOffice software (Word and Excel), performed clerical tasks using office equipment, assisted with billing, dealt with challenging clients, assumed receptionist duties when needed. SKILLS I am intelligent and outgoing, with excellent written and oral communication skills. I can identify and prioritize tasks and can monitor their completion in a timely and logical manner. I have excellent organizational skills and manage time well. I bring a friendly and open attitude to the workplace as well as a highly creative eye. I have been a student of the arts since the age of nine and greatly enjoy the creative process in many art forms including drawing, photography and photo editing. I am dynamic and attentive to detail, and capable of seeing and reaching the overall goal. I have solid computer skills (both MAC and PC environment) and learn new tasks and software quickly. I have limited experience with professional design applications such as Adobe InDesign. EDUCATION Present: Enrolled Full time at Diablo Valley College, taking prerequisite courses for university degree in studio art. Scheduled to complete my education in Spring 2013. Joel Goldfoot

For about 15 years, I've been proud to be called a designer, art director, creative director, and mentor. I always bring to the table my effective combination of business experience, strategic thinking, design and direction skills. I'm self-directed when I need to be, but play well with others. I'm comfortable with significant responsibility, multi-tasking, and burning the midnight oil. I've been responsible for launching national brands, leading companies in both message and design strategy sessions, and developing multi-disciplined campaigns that meet both business and creative objectives. I'm also very confident and able to serve as an articulate creative representative in client meetings and pitches.

Jonathan Meitus

who am i? my name is jonathan meitus, and have spent my career working for some pretty insightful clients; for some ridiculously smart agencies; and with some of the most talented creatives in the business what do i believe? i believe that people don't inherently look at advertising, they look at what interests them, and every now and then, that happens to be advertising i believe in gnawing on the metaphorical bone of the creative brief, until we get to the marrow, otherwise known as the 'big idea' i believe that the best work takes blood, sweat and (sometimes) tears i believe that good design goes to heaven, and that bad design goes everywhere i believe in choosing my battles i believe that every project is an opportunity and i believe in the chicago cubs (insert joke here...) want to know more? please feel free to take a look at some of my creative, my thinking and my insight at http://meitus.com

For the past 11+ years I have been working in digital advertising and experiences. I started my career at Ogilvy in NY working on IBM. Since moving to SF, I was at Freestyle Interactive for 4+ years, working as an ACD/Art Director. My main client was Electronic Arts, where I ran all the online creative/oversaw the team for the massive global launch of The Sims 3. This included concepting, some design/writing, managing ADs/CWs/Flash Animators, presenting to client, and everything in between. All in all I worked on 50+ titles for EA, as well as many other clients. I left Freestyle a year ago in November to go back to freelance where I am happy to do hands on design and concepting, oversee a team, or both. I have been at many agencies around SF, and spent Jan-April of '10 working at a small digital & social media agency in Sydney.
