Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity announces today that Rafael Rizuto, Chief Creative Officer at San Francisco’s own TBD, has been chosen as a juror for the Glass Lion category at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity in June 2018.
“It’s an honor to be on the Glass Lion jury amongst such an amazing group of people, and it’s extremely meaningful for the chance to reward work that consciously represents diversity,” said Rizuto. “TBD is founded on the principles of inclusion and agility. We hone diverse creative talent to produce authentic work that reflects the incredibly diverse society we live in.”
The Glass Lion recognizes work that implicitly or explicitly addresses issues of gender inequality or prejudice, through the conscious representation of gender in advertising. It is the Festival’s long-held belief that marketing actively shapes culture, and the Glass Lion accolade represents the industry’s commitment to create work that is inclusive and invokes sociocultural change.
Rizuto is no stranger to producing culture-shifting creativity. He is one of the most awarded creatives in the world over the last two years with over 20 Cannes Lions including three Grand Prix, a Titanium and multiple golds. Most recently, Rizuto was a selected to judge the Creativity for Good category at the 2018 D&AD Awards. His notable work includes Boost Mobile’s “Boost Your Voice”, UNICEF’s “UNfairy Tales, and Expedia’s “Dream Adventures.”
