Nonfiction Designs New Product for Non-Invasive Tremor Treatment

We don’t get a lot of product design work sent our way, but we’d love more like this! Check out the work SF-based design studio Nonfiction did on a non-invasive medical device to effectively reduce essential tremor—a chronic disease affecting over 7 million in the US.

Cala Trio is a watch-like wearable that “sends the skin neuromodulation waves to stimulate and interrupt tremor-causing nerves to provide relief.”

It’s FDA-approved and the first non-invasive effective tremor treatment: patients living with essential tremor can actually do daily tasks again like hold a cup and use a soup spoon—tasks that were impossible before.
