“Month two of quarantine is upon us. Artists still don’t have gigs. As we dwell in this liminal reality, we’ve realized that people need work and purpose. Artists want a commission, not a free lunch. Let’s explore opportunities that empower artists to rejuvenate our society.

As storefronts become boarded up, our iconic streets are beginning to look like a post apocalyptic hellscape. Our mission is to turn back that tide. We match businesses with visual artists to imagine messages of hope and beauty onto their storefronts.

Help us fill the void with art.”

Paint the Void in an initiative by two public art organizations joining forces: Building 180 and Art for Civil Discourse. Art for Civil Discourse is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization fiscally sponsored by Intersection for the Arts. All donations to Paint the Void are tax deductible.
