Goodby creating inspirational face shields for healthcare workers

Here’s a fantastic example of ad agencies stepping up in the face of COVID-19. Goodby Silverstein’s in-house innovation lab, GS&P Labs’ latest project has been 3D printing PPE face shields. Called SF Shields, the project aims to show appreciation for San Francisco healthcare workers using the one thing they see every day: PPE face shields.

To personalize the shields to SF, hopeful and inspirational chalk drawings were sourced from sidewalks across SF and then photographed, vectorized and 3D-printed onto the protective equipment.

An initial batch of SF Shields has been donated to hospitals across the city, but schematic files and instructions are available on SFShields.com for those able to 3D print more. The site also allows visitors to submit a photo of their own chalk art, which will then be turned into a file for future 3D printing.
