Mekanism & OkCupid Celebrate All Types of Love This Valentine’s Day

Face it, almost all of us hate Valentine’s Day. Mostly because it seems so contrived and fake. But Mekanism’s latest work for OkCupid brings a little more realness to the holiday with their efforts to celebrate an inclusive Valentine’s Day.

Their annual NSFW and boldly inclusive Valentine’s Day Cards paint a much-needed picture of love, romance, and partnership beyond Hallmark’s traditional cards. 

In a world where love is often portrayed through a white, heteronormative lens, this range of cards celebrates ALL the types of love, connections, and identities that are habitually overlooked…a cornerstone of OkCupid’s app. 

The cards, which are designed by BIPOC, Queer, non-binary, and LGBTQ artists concentrate on of-the-moment trending themes, like mental health, politics, pro-choice, climate change, and more! To double down on its support for reproductive rights, OkCupid is donating $1 to Planned Parenthood for every time the pro-choice card is shared through EOD February 14, 2022 (up to $25K).

The cards are available for free now through February 14 on a custom microsite and through OkCupid’s app.

“These Valentine’s represent what OkCupid is all about. They’re a celebration of all kinds of love and relationships, exploring themes that traditional Hallmarky-type Valentine’s do not,” said Bryan Davis, Creative Director at Mekanism. “From non-binary couples with climate change-denying dads to fully-vaccinated sex fiends, we want to make sure everyone feels the love this Valentine’s Day.”
