Leo Burnett Tailor Made screws over client The North Face in ridiculous stunt

What the fuck are we doing, people?

If you haven’t heard yet, Brazilian agency, Leo Burnett Tailor Made, screwed their own client, The North Face, with a ridiculous stunt aimed at replacing images in Wikipedia with North Face product shots in order to get them served up in Google search results.

The ploy is clearly against Wikipedia rules and it got The North Face in hot water with both Wikipedia and the public at large – neither of whom appreciated advertising getting shoved into their experience. Somehow, at no point in the process, did anyone stop to ask if this was against the rules or even if they SHOULD annoy the public in this way.

Good job damaging your client’s brand.

Sigh.
